The inescapable truth about religion

“I have observed that the world has suffered far less from ignorance than from pretensions to knowledge.
“It is not skeptics or explorers but fanatics and ideologues who menace decency and progress. No agnostic ever burned anyone at the stake or tortured a pagan, a heretic, or an unbeliever.”

  1. The worst genocides in history were carried out by atheists – Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pot.

  2. David Macdonald

All of which proves, yet again, that agnosticism is the way to go. Open minds, open hearts.

  3. Regrettably, too, it is often agnostics that allow dictatorships to happen. They drift; fail to take sides; mumble into their sleeves; avert their gaze when evil occurs.

In short, they are guilty as anyone else when decency and progress are threatened. It is utter arrogance for them to claim that they embody the open heart of humanity more than anyone else.
