Bring it on, the sooner they open up / take over a filling station up here the better! Its high time we got some fair pump prices up here!
Perhaps they’ll open on a Sunday too. Here’s hoping!
Well thats a turn up ..I like it ASAP please …the Big boys will put the Little ones in a Panic ..come on Tesco Help us !
Thank You Ian X for giving us updates …. As for Sunday opening well why ? we already have one such store open on a sunday which sells basically all one needs ..such a small catchment area to have two similar stores open on Sunday …. The Golf Club opening didn’t last long despite so many members saying ” we want it open on Sunday ” not enough support so doors had to be closed..
Thanks again
I heard that Tesco had bid on a number of Spar stores is this one of them?
Somebody phone Norman L. and ask him.
Wonder what option 1 was
Due to our monopoly supplier, Scottish Fuels, fuel here is anything up to 15p a litre dearer than many mainland prices. Moreover, Scottish Fuels can’t even manage to get fuel supplies to the Uists and Barra. The government managed to drop the price of fuel by 5p a litre for us, but Scottish Fuels managed to erode that very quickly. The OFT are looking, again, at fuel prices, but that could take forever. Also, our council, and individual councillors remain strangely quiet about the rip-off prices we pay.
In these circumstances, if Tesco manages to step in and start selling fuel.at realistic, non-rip-off prices, then I’m all for it as I, for one, am fed up with being ignored and ripped-off.
Good story and I would hope that it’s true. However, Tesco Metro and Tesco Express are two different store formats. I doubt that it would run as one between 8am and 10pm and then another for the rest of the time.
Has someone been handy with PhotoShop?
@ Jubilee 2 ….. in a word – “Competition” !!
Why should Mr E have all the Sunday trade ?
Competition one day per week Hmmm … Mr E ( as yu call him ) has given a service …
Now there is already Competition…surely SY’s know that
Don’t forget we also have 24 hours sevice from another retailer who also happens to sell fuel he also represents a ward in CnES – now would he be able to prevent this wonderful vision I have of seeing a Fuel sign up at this Forecourt something that has been missing for some time under the present ownership – lets just get Tesco in to Sell Fuel 6 days per week that is after all what this is about the Cost of fuel this side of the Minch
Lets see your name in lights Tesco at a certain roundabout
Hope this comes off too many people on lewis being ripped off and dumbed down by thie own kin folk its awfull scottish fuels should be on rouge traders for the way they carry on some of our other high flyibg officials arnt doing as much as the could for our cause because they are getting rich the way things are bring on change we need it as for the Sunday issue it is about time we live and let live ie if you want to go to church on sunday i wont form a group and stop you doing what you want on a sunday and i as a local man would expect the same treatment if i want to buy fuel bread ect on a sunday
…Believe it when I see it!
Ideal if it happens. Perfect site and best if they take over an existing petrol station rather than try and open another one. We have plenty enough petrol stations, just need competitive pricing and it’s much harder (I would think) to block change of ownership of an established business than a new business of similar type to existing ones. As for the Sunday trading, happy if they do open on a Sunday not too bothered if they don’t but whether it’s Tesco with another one opening on a Sunday or Mr E. who already does, it’s time to stop this nonsense about the Sunday papers. If you’re trading, then trade. If you sell papers every other day and you’re open on a Sunday then sell papers on a Sunday. Getting them on a Monday is pointless. But yes, the priority is fair fuel prices.
Is the Picture of a proposed Tesco Petrol Station Just a representation, A Photo shopped picture of an existing Station At the end of the same street or a “Design proposal? Whichever I believe in the practicality of them (Tesco) Changing the ownership of an existing Station & wholly agree that the 22 pence diference between some Island Prices & Those of Morrisons Inverness ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE ISLAND SHORTAGES Is Scandalous, The combined effect of the ever increasing price of Fuel & removal of RET on Lorries is making me seriously consider a move to the Mainland.
