If this iniative allows fuel to be drawn in from a larger geographic area,then it has the potential to level out the long suffered injustice of a rigged market place.l have signed up,and would urge those who have felt let down by the actions of those previously suppying fuel to do the same.This is action,not hot air

Just wondered how these clubs actually work? i understand the part about the club buying a larger volume of oil to get a reduced rate, but how does the billing side work ? Do the customers pay the club ? Or pay the supplier ? Do all members have to order at the one time to get the benefit ? What if a club member has a credit problem with the supplier? The idea in principle sounds great, but, would love to know more about them ?
If you pay the supplier, then you cant really set up a direct debit to spread the cost over a period of time, as the club orders from the cheapest supplier right ?

I’m sure FFS can answer all your concerns. Oil Clubs are very common throughout the UK, however beforehand you could look at the Citizens Advise site for reassurance. All oil distributors should welcome Fuel Clubs. Any other issues speak your to local Trading Standards department. Basically if all working it should be no more difficult for the consumer when ordering oil, but will be more transparent leading to everyone getting a better and fairer deal.

Moreover, your local clubs can from alliances with other clubs out with your isles sharing information on best deals and prices.
You never know you may even attract other suppliers to come on the ferry with full loads delivering to your clubs as a package deal e.g. Simpson Oils, Scrabster have travelled into Orkney
