After all the red-faced snorting last night from Lord Haw Haw Macleod about the collection theft case, Northern Constabulary has not yet been able to confirm the case will not end up before the courts. Nor has FP minister Dr Tallach yet confirmed that the church has formally asked for the case to be dropped.
Despite the fact that certain media are prepared to be briefed by him, and rush to publish accordingly, I am now assured Gentle John Macleod has no authority to speak for anyone in the matter. In other words, he continues to be regarded as an embarrassing, self-seeking hindrance both to his church and to the people caught up in this sorry tale.
I shall meanwhile continue to rely primarily on what I am told by the official sources i.e. the people who are actually in the know.
Why bother with a bloated bigoted dysfunctional deluded oaf?
This has all the Hallmarks of Maciver -V- Macleod & the Church.
John Macleod is a “public figure” and has ruffled manys a feather, including mine. If you want to have a go at him- fair enough, but pleasse desist from using this tragic set of circumstances as a vehicle for doing so,.
Think of the irreparable damage and hurt you are causing to the parties involved and their extended family by continuing to give this oxygen and unwarranted attention. I am neither a church member nor do I know the person involved.
The vast majority in this community accept the matter has been dealt with by the Church and the Authorities- why on earth can’t you? It is unlikely that you will ever get a further comment from either the Northern Constabulary or the FP Church who in all probability do not see the necessity of answering querries from a third party, even if a local journalist. Does this mean you will carry on with such personal and vicious “head lines” just to “get at “John Macleod? The heading of this latest blog entry is in my view shocking, shameful to the writer of it and quite unnecessary. Give us all break- but particularly the persons who are hurting all the more as a consequence.
Whadyacallhim, wouldn’t you be better directing your comments at MacLeod?
So FP people hurt but what about everyone else? Does whadyacallim demand privacy for the common shoplifters and everyone else who packs our court each week or two? Dont think so. So it’s still one law for them and … Makes you want to puke.
Whadyacallim,How do you know what the vast majority think??
You seem to be of the opinion that most people think like you..
Out of five comments on this blog,it seems to me that your opinion is at 20%,unless of course you have conducted your own poll, maybe at the corner of Matheson Road and Scotland Street,
My worry is the FP’s have put themselves in a dodgy legal position. The next time anyone steals anything from them, they may find it difficult to let the police do their job without charges of discriminating in favour of people in relationships with their own office bearers.
If someone smashes the church windows, could the guilty party demand to be let off on the grounds that the church let off the more serious church thief? It would certainly be grounds for appeal and could hinge on the question of discrimination.
Still, I’m sure they have thought through the ramifications of a most extraordinary decision which could open the door to absolute chaos for them and others.
whataya wotever,.percentage getting smaller.like church congregations.with exception of Martins.wonder why?
SIGH
‘Love covers a multitude of sins.’ Whereas this exercise in hypocritical self-righteous witch-huntery uncovers the sin and unlove of the multitudes. Hate the Church as much as you like. But while you are spraying your bullets of bitterness the innocent are being mown down. And all in the name of truth and journalistic integrity apparently. No agendas whatsoever. The Church, like any organisation of people is characterised by the weakness and fallenness of these same people. Sin is just as operative in her precincts as any other. But God is greater than our sin. Praise God. But for grace all human communication would be on the same level as this blog. It’s a great advert for evolution. Not.
Charloch, people still believing in their invisible friend, in this day and age, isn’t exactly a great advertisment for evolution.
Oh my word. Another cover up by the Church! No shock there at all. Domestic abuse, hidden, child abuse, hidden, refusing a happily married gay couple the right to attend worship, also hidden, refusing to conduct a wedding because the bride wished to have an organ played and a song sung from her childhood days at Sunday School. The song Bind Us Together Lord, is apparently not the kind of praise God allows. I think these people need to read their bibles from the very start again and learn a few things.
