Hello.

Some inquiries have come in from readers about blog posts
which seem to suddenly disappear. One of the reasons for a post being
withdrawn is that a complaint may have been received. That does not mean
the post will not reappear. It may mean that negotiations are ongoing about
a way forward that is acceptable to all parties. Some posts reappear even if there
is no agreement with a complainer. However, I will try to be fair and allow time for
sensible complaints to be considered – about my posts or even readers’ comments.

It is also apparent that some readers do seem to be confused about the nature of blogs.
From recent correspondence, they seem to be under the impression that this blog
should not contain certain opinions, should be worded more blandly or should never
criticise certain organisations or public figures, even when they mess up badly.
I disagree with pretty much all of that. I will acknowledge such complaints but
I am unlikely to permanently withdraw a post on that basis.  My aim, apart
from having a bit of fun, is to continue writing stories about issues and
views which would otherwise never see the light of day. That will
anger some people. But that’s a good thing, right? Bye.
