A schoolboy suffered minor injuries at the Nicolson Institute on Tuesday. He was using a sander at the time and the tops of his fingers came into contact with it.
A spokesman for the education department said: “He was seen by two First Aiders who assessed the situation. He had lost some skin and the top of one nail. There was, in the view of the staff, no requirement for an ambulance.”
A parent was called to the school and took the boy to Accident and Emergency.
well well well this is the second time in three weeks that I have heard of the school not calling an ambulance to an injured pupil and the family have had to arrange for the child to be taken to A&E, I do believe that there is something wrong with the policy at this school, or could it be more sinister.
I think a freedom of information report might be enlightening my not!!!!
