UPDATE – Loch Seaforth on Ullapool run with vehicles

UPDATE – I have just heard from someone who was told by the booking office that the Loch Seaforth vehicle service will not operate on Sunday. So don’t change any plans until you check the latest situation with CalMac.

A technical fault with the ferry Isle of Lewis has resulted in the Loch Seaforth going back on the Ullapool run from Saturday morning – two days early.

CalMac says all sailings between Stornoway and Uig have been cancelled due to the technical problems.

The Loch Seaforth will take vehicles from tomorrow (Saturday)

So the Loch Seaforth will resume full vehicle sailings between Ullapool and Stornoway to the normal published timetable.

The new ferry has been unable to take vehicles for the last few weeks service because of Ullapool harbour works which had to be finished.  The former main Ullapool ferry, the Isle of Lewis, has instead been taking vehicles but via Uig on Skye.

However, all the work at Ullapool is now done and all load testing in the last few days was successful.

Sailings will leave Stornoway at 7am and 2.30pm on Saturday and then leave Ullapool at 10.30am and 6.30pm.

The ferry company says all customers who were booked to travel on the 12.40pm sailing from Stornoway to Uig have been rebooked on the 2.30pm sailing from Stornoway to Ullapool. And all customers who were booked to travel on the 4.40pm sailing from Uig to Stornoway have been rebooked on the 6.30pm sailing from Ullapool to Stornoway.

One Response to UPDATE – Loch Seaforth on Ullapool run with vehicles

  1. Norman Macarthur says:

Ullapool come up Trumps again. Further proof that this is a very well run harbour going about their business with the minimum of fuss. Hopefully we on this side of the Minch under the new management at Stornoway Harbour will be able to attain such a status before too long
