BT says broadband is fixed

BT says all its core broadband links to the Western Isles are now running error-free. Oops, forgot to post that a couple of days ago.

  1. Iain, as you can see from my FB comment on this topic, the broadband issue here in Tong is far from fixed. I am estimating that I am still only getting about the half the speed which I was used to some months ago. BT are clearly trying to wriggle out of this situation, probably because of the sheer inadequacy of their infrastructure and broadband service to us. We mustn’t let them off the hook or they will just keep burying their heads in the sand and keep denying there actually is a problem.

  2. Far from it Iain. When you first raised the issue I was not being affected at all. Checking this morning though I am getting about a 3rd of the normal speed:

    Download Speed (Mbps): 2.11
    Upload Speed (Mbps): 0.37
    Ping Latency(ms): 63.50

So the impression I have is that they have shifted the problem so it is perhaps less drastic in places but thay have spread the problem.

  3. So at 3,30pm on a sat afternoon they call this fixed, any further coms from them mr x
    download speed (Mbps:1.56)
    upload speedMbps(0.17)
    ping latency(ms:419.00

  4. Since BT Mail separated from BT Yahoo! BT have become unbelievably slower.
I can now access my mail quicker through Yahoo! home page and access Google and Windows in half the time it takes to access my BT account.

  5. 0.37 dl
    0.06 ul
    ping latancey 0.00 ms
Is this what bt say is fixed and thats after calling them today and them saying there isnt any fault ,it must be my internal wirring,or EVEN my computer, laughable ………………………….
