It has become necessary again to remind everyone they may be held responsible for what they write on this and any other blog or website, if there is a complaint.
I can confirm that a complaint has been made to police about a couple of comments recently posted by readers of this blog.
Stornoway Police are currently investigating the matter. Anyone who can help the inquiry may contact Constable Andrew Maciver.

Which comments, specifically?
Are you for real?would they be removed and then posted again for your benefit?
I think it is important to realise that anonymous postings on blogs are not as anonymous as you may think.Whilst hiding behind anonymity may be a necessity for many people who would face recriminations for what they post, believing you can blithely post without consequence is untrue.
murdo mackinnon,
Surely the least you could do is to give us a clue instead of posting in such an inane fashion? Wasn’t looking for direct quotes, general ballpark would do though – there’s a good chap.
Domhnallach,i apologise for not expanding further,i thought it would be quite obvious by the topic being discussed, maybe my definition of ‘specifically’is not the same, therefore i wouldnt wish to be under investigation also for repeating the offensive remarks, maybe Mr X will enlighten you
